Introduction to Scotty’s Corner
Welcome! You have already started to straighten out your crooked path when you chose to study our spiritual self-help
course. If you are anything like me, you have had many relationship “complications” for lack of a better term. The Lord has lead you to Lauralee and me, to start a new journey in order to find your suitable partner and all of the joy that comes with finding your one, and only, incredible mate. I am going to share a man’s point of view on each verse of the
Suitable Helpmate Prayer, including my thoughts on incorporating the prayer into your everyday lives. My wife, Lauralee, will provide the text and her version of what the text meant to her, along with how the text played out in her life from a female perspective. Therefore, this is not a just “chic” course as you will see when you read my writings—writings from a blue-collar guy. Males and females are both welcome here as we discuss God’s Word with you. I owe everything to the Suitable Helpmate Prayer. If it was not for God’s Word, and my wife’s commitment to SHP, we would not have met. God has given me my soul mate; what a joyous blessing! I am so grateful for the opportunity to share my journey with you, and that both she and I may share our experiences with you as we moved toward becoming husband and wife, that grand voyage that we have waited so long to
embark on with a lifelong partner. As you become more familiar with SHP, you will come to acknowledge the bad habits that you possess that need to be broken in order to release God’s blessing of meeting a mate who
is suitable for you. I ask that you make a fellowship between this course and yourselves. You will create more self-control
over your life through the new choices that you make, and the more you read and become one with the text, the more you will
come to understand yourself and your purpose in life, and open yourself to falling in love with the mate of your dreams. Well, if you are an impatient person like me and you have read
this far, I have aroused your curiosity! That’s great. Take a leap of faith with us and encounter what God has in store for you.
Or, you can sit on the sideline and wonder "What if?” Or, you may use my favorite victim line, used many times in my recent past, “What is wrong with me?” The choice is yours. I hope that you shoot for a happy ending this time, and follow us in the Suitable Helpmate Prayer.
