After serving in the United States Military for 12 years and the Department of Corrections for 8 1/2 years I found myself laid off. The job hunt was on. I went on several dozen job interviews. Thinking that the interviews went well, I received the same result. “Thank you Mr. Burns for coming in. We have several other applicants that we must interview.” Basically, this meant, don’t call us, we’ll call you. I wondered what I was missing. What were the interviewers looking for? I went on a quest to find out what is required to land that job. After 2 long years of meticulous research, I found the key to have a successful interview. I wrote this guide to help not only the new job seeker but the seasoned veteran that is looking to change career paths. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, I knew there was something great out in the world for me to do. After traveling around the world, I attended Harold Washington College and Chicago State University where I received my Associates of Arts Degree and Bachelors of Science Degree. I have four outgoing children. This gives me a chance to combine two of my passions, writing and helping people.
