About the Author

Susan Hawkins Barton

I want my journey to assist and inspire families that live with a Diabetic to manage and stay in control of a condition that has no cure. I have written SOPs and curriculum to assist medical providers with creating electronic records and treatment plans. My Information Systems Degree and technical skills lead me to a career in medical health systems. The integrity and infrastructure of automating health information records and allowing EPHI data to move in a bi-directional media format to be shared with providers and health facility within seconds made life move at a much faster and more accurate pace. I used the same methodology for my family members which served me well for monitoring and tracking childhood Illness, Immunization records, doctor appointments, Athletic Physicals, Prescriptions and Annual health care benefits and member liabilities. I wrote “She’s Type I” to share with other families; the bare essentials, that are comforting in sustaining the best quality of life for your Diabetic.
