So she sat alone, just how she wanted it to be, behind closed doors that wouldn't allow laughter or ringing bells to seep through. Right near a window where she could see out, and no one could see in. Her past is now past, and her future is nothing like her past. About the Author

Shbrone Mims

Shbrone Mims is a 28 year veteran of the Dallas Fire Department, a husband, and the father of two sons. A graduate of East Texas State University (currently Texas A&M Commerce) receiving a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. His childhood days in Terrell, TX, and stories shared by his mother, father, and grandmother, crafted his writing skills to enrapture the mind much like an artist wields a brush. The pages are blank canvases on which to draw from a talent heralded by many and matched only by an imagination that rises to the task. A Dream So Far Away is the first in a series of recent pursuits, with work progressing quickly on the follow-up.
