Book Details

Decades of a women’s movement without a complementary shift for men has created a social gender ecosystem that is out of balance. This book--stemming in part from my former holistic health consultation practice that often focused on the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual issues men face--explores that gender imbalance. I believe men’s challenges and the true nature of masculinity are both misunderstood and misrepresented. My intent here is twofold. First, I hope to help men find their own voice and to expand the narrative of their roles in today’s society. Second, I wish to provoke a more daring dialogue about gender and masculinity. My book of prose and poetry is rooted in personal and professional life experiences as well as formal study. I also weave historical events and archetypal identities into the book because they hold narratives and wisdom that can help today’s men become more grounded. As I point out in the book, men are in need of a reset button for their gender.
