Shelia Clinton, born in Camden, New Jersey, second oldest child of eight children, now resides in the East Oak Lane section of Philadelphia. She has written several plays for her place of worship, Jones Memorial Baptist Church, in the North Philadelphia area. One of Shelia’s poems was featured in the Philadelphia Tribune, “Three Men Sitting On a Bench.” She also received four World of Poetry Anthology for Amateurs certificates in the late ’80s and early ’90s. In the “Brick Yard” section of Germantown in Philadelphia, Shelia wrote a letter to the Philadelphia Daily News which was published about young mothers on crack. Shelia loves collecting African American art, home decorating, cooking, jazz music and has performed (lip synch) as “Etta James” “At Last” at a community center fashion show. Shelia has modeled for Bee Line Fashions, and Ashley Stewart’s summer clothing line in the Cheltenham Square Mall. Shelia is presently working as an Office Coordinator at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
