Book Details

Brian’s book offers a candid insight on the raising of a teenage girl, from the not often thought about perspective of a single dad. Taking a sometimes-humorous approach to the realities of being a single father; the chapters offer common sense advice on various topics: from discipline, chores, and dealing with her moodiness to getting her to be ok with you dating.

Brian tries to capture both perspectives, parent and child, with the hope of bringing a common understanding.

Interestingly enough the experiences and suggestions described are universal and apply to parents and teenagers of both genders.

His narration is honest yet light and makes an enjoyable read.

About the Author

Brian Edwards

Brian Edwards was a typical guy living the independent, carefree life. Working nine to five during the week and relaxing on weekends. Suddenly, all that changed. He got married and a cute prepackaged three- year old girl entered his life. For whatever reason, she thought the world of him.

Her innocent admiration was something he cherished and it woke something in him. Without even realizing it, he found himself trying to be worthy of that admiration and disappointing her was something he tried avoiding at all costs.

Parenting came slowly to him and there were times where patience was tested and disappointments were inevitable. Through it all, they developed a bond that grew over the years.

He learned many lessons along the way. All of which were put to the test a few years later when the marriage ended and he was unceremoniously thrust into the role of a single dad.

The lessons learned over that time became the material for this book. He believes his situation is not unique and is therefore looking back and sharing those lessons in the hope that they may resonate with others who find themselves in similar circumstances.
