Book Details

A grandfather who never knew or had any record of his own paternal grandfather leaves a written record for his four adored grandsons.

This is a story of growing up in post WWII America in oil-booming Oklahoma and culturally rich New York. Pops shares the fun he had, lessons he learned and marks the differences in life in the ‘50s and ‘60s for todays “tweeners” of 2022. Talked in a personal, easy way, it is a warm and loving description of growing up in very different times from today but translated into universal themes that should appeal to younger men.

About the Author

Scott Mitchell

Scott Mitchell was born in Oklahoma in 1943 and “finished” in a Long Island high school before attending the University of Oklahoma on a Naval ROTC scholarship. He became an accomplished Navy carrier pilot, commanding a jet attack squadron onboard USS Midway. A second career followed in retirement community management. Now fully retired, he lives in Spotsylvania, Virginia with his wife Carol. Life really begins with grandchildren - ask anyone. (Photo circa 1950).
