God's Wrath
An understanding of what the day of the Lord is and what it is not, is an important key to having an accurate understanding of what will happen in the end times. Differences in rapture views literally come from what one understands about the day of the LORD (God's wrath). Keep in mind that the day of the LORD is not a 24-hour day. It is a period of time that will be determined by God. Of course, the best place to find out about this time period is Scripture. There is a tremendous amount of information in the Bible written about the day of the LORD...

Concerning the day of the LORD:
Only the LORD is exalted. (Is. 2:11, 17)
Only the wicked will be punished (Is. 13:11)
It is a day of judgment for the ungodly. (2 Pet. 3:7)
It is accompanied by darkness 'cosmic disturbances.' (Joel 2:10-11; Zeph. 1:15)
Cosmic disturbances come before God's wrath begins. (Joel 2:30-31)
It is a day of trumpet alarms (Joel 2:1; Zeph. 1:16)
The godly will be delivered / rescued (2 Pet. 2:9)
Inhabitants of the earth will tremble (Joel 2:1)...

Satan's Wrath (the great tribulation)
Many will say that the day of the LORD and the great tribulation are happening at the same time; however, you will plainly see that according to Scripture, it is impossible for the two to occur at the same time...

Concerning Satan's wrath:
The antichrist will exalt himself and demand worship. (2 Thess. 2:4)
Only the godly, the saints, and the faithful believers will be persecuted (Rev. 12:17)
Cosmic disturbances are not linked to this time.
