Book Details

Never Settle for Less chronicles the assaultive nature of the legal system when a woman sues for gender discrimination and equal pay. It’s also the poignant love story of this veterinarian and her devoted Labrador retriever—a dog whose life she saves, who then saves her during the destructive, demoralizing lawsuit.

Litigation is not for the faint of heart. One quickly learns there is a legal system but not necessarily a justice system. At a time when women’s rights are being eliminated, Never Settle for Less is a guide for women on how to win at civil litigation—all while maintaining their sanity. Litigation is a chess game and high drama. Learning to outmaneuver and out-strategize the opponent as well as win over the jury is critical for a favorable verdict, and one must maintain psychological balance and a positive attitude to endure the terrifying roller-coaster ride of decisions and reversals. In this story it is a Zen Master in the form of a Labrador retriever who guides the plaintiff in her quest for victory.
