My Soul's Window is a collection of poems that Kimani has written over the past eleven yrs. The poems are made up of his personal experience, and experiences of others who have come to him for advice or just a listening ear. The book consists of four sections which are Mind, Heart, Soul, and Lust. Mind, Heart, and Soul all have preludes to each poem describing how the poem came to be.

Never make someone your priority while you’re only their option is the best advice I never used

Choosing to always please; may lead to being misused and taken for granted…..Understand this

Was a hard lesson I learned through bought sense, and hell I’m still paying my dues

Life is all about decision, it boils down to nothing more than to what you want most, what you choose

About the Author

Kimani K. Mumpfield

This southern gentleman was born and raised in Montgomery, AL. He is a proud father of four and a well traveled military veteran experiencing different lifestyles, cultures, and personalities. Among the many places he has lived and/or visited are Germany, Portugal, Ecuador, Spain, Iraq, Kuwait, France, Amsterdam, Brazil, Canada, Texas, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and North Dakota; although he eventually moved back to his southern roots in Alabama.

He is inspired by the different styles of spoken word, poems, and songs created by known and unknown poets and artists. His work is a blend of his own life experiences, as well as the experiences of those who looked to him for advice or to just listen. Everything he writes is personal; revealing feelings he’s never told. When reading this man’s work, the reader is looking into his soul.

His goal is to expose a bit of himself with the hope that whomever reads this might realize he wrote it about them; and encourages them to feel comfortable expressing themselves to whomever deserves it.
