Marc Allen Sheer is a true farm boy, as in the book, raised on a farm in northern Illinois. He is still living as of 2024 (the printing of this book), although not on the farm. After his brief attempt at college, Marc attended a radio school in Bettendorf, Iowa. Then, upon passing all required tests by the Federal Communications Commission, received a First Class License in broadcasting. Most of the book, Music City Farmboy, is true. Marc was also a club musician and did indeed move to Nashville, Tn. to become a songwriter. He was fortunate enough to be employed by a local radio station, when the station was purchased by country music star, Tom T. Hall. Since leaving Nashville in 1982, Marc has worked in radio, the pizza business, and various jobs including shuttle bus driver.
