Join the adventure of Mothering Like The Father and see for yourself how following His example can make a difference in your family.

Book Excerpt

“Mommy, why don’t I wear a bra?” My four-year-old daughter startled me with a question I was not prepared to answer. However, it occurred to me that in virtually every way she looks like a miniature version of me. People regularly tell us how much we look alike. The variation in chest size (as well as the necessary undergarment) is a notable difference in the eyes of a little girl. Every day she is growing more into the likeness of her mother. Just like every day I hope to be growing more into the likeness of my heavenly Father.

One way I strive to be more like God is in my parenting. People are often surprised to hear that when my daughters were born they came with instructions. In fact, all children do. The guide doesn’t come in a printed manual attached to the umbilical cord, but in the form of an example from a loving Father God who shows us how it’s done in the way He parents us. By purposefully becoming aware of six characteristics of God as a parent, we can adopt the same traits and incorporate them into our own child-rearing styles.
