There are many types of abuse: psychological, physical, and sexual. Having been a victim of all three for the majority of my adolescent life has caused me to question. Have the events from my past affected my present and even more importantly my future? Webster defines the word affected as harmed or impaired. Growing up in a bible thumping, independent, fundamental Baptist church has its advantages, some of them not being honesty and openness. I pride myself in being able to have what I consider a happy and productive life. The purpose of this book is to uplift those who are living in disparity thinking they can't possibly break the chains that bind their souls. I am here to say it loud and proud "You can overcome!" Life is a journey, so let's hold hands and hearts and get through it together.
