Overcoming a Debilitating State of Mind

Mary was young and in the prime of her life when it all came to a screeching halt. Her boss had coerced her into quitting her job because she was pregnant with his child, leading her to believe that he would provide for her. She had no job and was completely dependent on him financially. But Mary would soon learn that she could not rely on the father of her child…or even some of her family. Her loneliness and fear were overwhelming. Consumed by depression, Mary felt her life was over. Life went on around her, but she just stood still, struggling to breathe. However, with much prayer and through her faith in God, Mary was finally able to recognize the miracle that was now her life—and no matter what lay ahead, she could face her future with strength and courage.
