Year Two Without You

by Howard McBeth

Book Details

Howard McBeth’s poems are lyrical and laced with the grief of losing his wife suddenly in 2018—yet they are also life-affirming, filled with faith, and relevant to all. Year Two Without You explores life and discovery after the loss of a loved one.

I could only kneel at the throne humbled
by what God had created and entrusted in me
to walk a path with another
to become one
consumed by passion unchecked
limitless beyond reach — beyond the touch of man
only to be stricken by death’s hand
lost to this now unfamiliar land
a winter that never ends
Loving her was my sin
