The story starts with my oldest daughter Jazmin. She would cry every time I left the room. She would look for me but when she could not find me, she would cry. That is when I would talk to her to let her know I was near. Then I thought about how she would ask me questions of where I was at. I would talk to her to show her that I was doing things for her. But then I would talk to her in Spanish, she would smile. I think this book tells the story to all mothers and daughters of different cultures that we all have the same heart and love for your family.

My name is Thamar DeRusse, I am a mother of four children, two girls and two boys. I also have been a preschool teacher for 28 years. I have watched my children grow up and I have seen other children grow up too. I enjoy exploring the world that children live in and through their words I write what they see. I am very blessed to be in a job that allows me to enjoy the playfulness, silliness, and wonder of our children. My name is Luana DeRusse and I am a mother of two precious human beings, a wife to my best friend, and a twin. I grew up watching Saturday morning cartoons with my twin and I love watching animated films. I enjoy spending my free time with family and friends, drawing and painting.
