These devotions are taken from the pages of my personal journal...the wisdom I learned during my private struggles. ACKNOWLEDGMENTS God blessed me with so many wonderful people in my life who contributed to the overall experience of writing this devotional. I want to acknowledge the continual emotional support I receive from my wonderful physician, Dr. Carlos Venegas. Dr. Venegas, you are one of the most genuine people I have ever encountered. Thank you for holding my hand when the days were dark. Thank you for keeping it real and simple.

While at home recovering from surgery to remove a large tumor that was wrapped around my fallopian tubes, I decided to have a pity party. Some of my guests were: “why me, Lord“? “Nobody loves me“, “rejection” and “what if”? I felt empty and barren. I felt very unattractive and alone. I’d gained 25 pounds and my body wasn’t the same. “Nobody loves me” is a frequent party attendee.
