Book Details

Journey through the looking glass into a redemptive soul’s story in poetic form. Her struggles and triumphs will inspire you to hope again.

Love’s Redeemed Daughter with the Reflections of Nyla is about life from the eyes of a stripper, through poetry and prose. The reader will journey with Heather Heartflo into how the “life” influenced her mind-set, and how sex culture played a large role in shaping her identity through the strip clubs and the streets, and into the private transformation of a woman’s heart as Love’s redeemed daughter. Heartflo pours herself out onto the pages of this book, and you will come alongside to the last page of ink.

Book Excerpt

Mirrored Rooms and Camouflage Yachts (Part 2) Easy money made, easy money gone Oh how I love to hear you sing your song Bonnie and Clyde you’ve been my ride or die I’ve chose you over life and haven’t asked why Feeling like it’s – Us against the world Is this love? Or am I swirled Made you my God In a camouflaged underworld Mirrored rooms and camouflage yachts Like, jaded dreams and strip club lots Candy kisses and midnight plots Obscene realities and whiskey shots Many nights, we ride this train Many nights these tricks made it rain Many nights, I’ve gazed in your eyes Many nights I’ve said goodbye Many nights, just wanted to stay home Many nights we turned off the phone This burning illusion is what I lived for My eyes now open, can’t pretend no more I’ve lived in the matrix and I now see what freedom is No more self-deception Cuz ignorance sho-nuff ain’t bliss The foggy night air hits my face These memories sometimes my heart can’t erase The lies I breathed in and the smoke I still taste The years consumed in a liar’s rat-race Mirrored rooms and camouflage yachts, like jaded dreams to strip club lots Dimmed lights and smoked filled rooms Glass ceilings and sweet perfumes Fake smiles and high heel shoes, a dollar and a dream… Self-deception comes in small tablespoons.
