An emotional story of a woman’s quest to care for her mother suffering with Alzheimer’s disease

Tee Nadine’s book, Love Covers A Multitude of Sins, needs to be read by people from every walk of life. I couldn’t put it down! Her true story, as a daughter and caregiver to her precious mother with Alzheimer’s is the experience of many, but an often untold one. I wept and, yes, I even laughed because it was so relatable and unapologetically honest and it exposes the reality of our own humanity. You will learn and understand more about the Alzheimer’s experience, but more importantly, you will learn more about what real love is.
—Rev. Pat Chen - Author, International Speaker, Founder of First Love Ministries International Prayer Center, Board Member of the National Day of Prayer

This is a clear, concise, and well written book. It is an insightful bird’s eye view into the struggles of taking care of a loved one who is declining mentally. A wonderful read.
—Debbi Sery, Author of Children’s Books

I believe that the subject matter of this book is one which will impact a majority of Baby Boomers, those born after World War II (1946-64), as they struggle to assist their elderly parents. How are you to care for a parent who has Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s disease? Where are the support systems and resources available to those who don’t know where to turn for answers? This book is the nettlesome journey of one woman who had to confront the challenge of caring for her parents: her father who was blind and needed to be cared for and her mother who had developed Alzheimer’s! You will experience the roller coaster of emotions as you journey with Tee Nadine as she seeks to provide care and discover, the not so convenient, resources available to help with ailing parents.
—Dr. James R. Love, Sr. – Author, Pastor, Conference Speaker, Founder of Love the Word Ministries, Professor of Theology and Philosophy; Lancaster Bible College, Metro Campus; Denver Seminary, Metro Campus; and Prince Georges Community College

Then the doctor turned to my mother.
"So, Mrs. Drake, how are you doing?"  Mom squirmed a little in the chair.
"Okay, but you know my memory is getting a little worse.  I'm confused a lot of times and I'm beginning to forget things more and more."
"Mrs. Drake", Dr. Chelsea said, "we have talked about this many times before.  It is not going to get any better, a matter of fact, it's going to get progressively worse over time.  You and your family need to prepare for this."
"Prepare for this?", I said inquisitively as I looked up at Dr. Chelsea. "What are we talking about? What's going on, I mean, is there something wrong with her?".  Dr. Chelsea sighed.
"So, she didn't tell you?"  Dr. Chelsea swiveled his chair toward my mom. "Mrs. Drake, I told you that you need to share this with your family.  It is very important that they know.  Why didn't you tell them?"  Mom held her head down.
"I didn't want them to worry about me and I want to take care of myself for as long as I can."  Dr. Chelsea swiveled in his chair and looked me dead in the face.
"Your mother has mild to moderate Alzheimers Disease.  The dementia affects her memory and her cognitive function.  It will eventually effect her physical abilities and at some point in time she will need 24 hour care."  In a state of confusion and shock,  I asked,
"Well, are you giving her anything for this?"
"There is no cure for this, if that's what you are asking me. Your mother is taking Aircept, which is helping her deal with her cognitive functions.  She is also taking a vitamin supplement called ginko biloba which helps with clarity of thought patterns.  As the disease progresses, we will try other medications, but because there is no cure most medications will be trial and error."  I just began to look around the room.
"How long has she known this, Dr. Chelsea?"
"I have been treating your mom for this for approximately four years now.  I am going to give you some information pamphlets so that you can have a better understanding of the disease and I'm going to write down all of the medications that she's taking and why.  You can call me at anytime.  Do you have any further questions?" My head began spinning but before I wouldn't be able digest anymore information, I asked Dr. Chelsea if he would also give me a list of all of my father's medications and what they were for.  He did that also.
