In 1956, Louis Vaughan, at the age of seventeen, migrated to the United States of America and became a naturalized citizen five months later. This book depicts his journey as he learned about and lived with racism in America. In 1962, after graduating from college with a bachelor’s degree, he joined the Air Force which became his classroom for Learning About and Living With Racism In America.

 

About the Author

Louis M. Vaughan

He retired twenty-five years later, in 1987 as a Lieutenant Colonel. After retirement, he worked in Human Resource positions for the Commonwealth of Virginia, MCV Hospital, Richmond, VA, Mary Washington University, and as a consultant for the City of Fredericksburg, VA. He lives with his wife, Linda, in Fredericksburg, VA and has two children and five grandchildren.
