A Child Learns That Christmas Has More Than One Meaning…

Christmas is Nathan’s favorite time of year. His dad, Chuck, loves Christmas, and it’s so much fun to hear stories, learn traditions, and most of all…to wait for Santa Claus! Or at least, that part used to be fun. Nathan is five years old now, and he’s not sure about Santa. He begins to ask his father some questions that open up a wonderful opportunity for Nathan and his dad to explore the territory between myth and belief. Chuck doesn’t want to lie to his son, but he also wants to cherish Nathan’s sense of magic and wonder. Together they navigate the journey from the legend of Santa Claus to an even more wonderful gift: a deeper understanding of the true meaning of Christmas. Charming, heartfelt, and wise, Long Ago One December will become a family favorite with readers of all ages.

Book Excerpt

SAMPLE TEXT: One day at school while eating my lunch I saw a group of boys huddled in a bunch. I listened to each with their voices kept low, I couldn't believe what I heard. Oh not! Say it's not so! "Johnny says there's no Santa, and I think he is right! I mean, how does one man fly 'round the world in one night?"
