Why Do We Want What Our Neighbors Have?

Do you ever wonder why we feel the need to meet other people’s standards? We can try to imitate them financially—new cars, big houses, prestigious jobs, expensive vacations, a big wedding. We can try to keep up socially—lots of friends, lots of attention, in the spotlight. We can even try to keep up with people spiritually, when they seem to have it all together when we’re struggling. It can get hard to keep up, and even harder to hold it all in—do you ever feel like you’re wearing a shaper that keeps your emotional life in an acceptable form, when maybe it would be better to let it all out? Marie Whitson knows exactly how you feel, and after many experiences of trying to fit into someone else’s vision, she learned to throw away her emotional shapers and rely on God. By sharing her experiences and insights about how God was ready to shape her once she turned away from trying to conform to others, Marie will help you to get in emotional shape and relax, too! Down to earth, funny, relatable, and real, Life Doesn’t Wear a Shaper is your indispensable guide to letting go of other people’s standards and embracing a true and authentic version of yourself.
