Book Excerpt

Chapter 7 A Fresh Start

Longbow tossed and turned all night as he thought about these things and decided that he would ask Golden Hawk. Longbow took and early swim in the river the next morning. He took off his buckskins and loincloth and waded out into the Ossipee. The water was cool and refreshing, you could say invogorating. The water swirled about him as he swam deeper and deeper into the river and before he realized it he was well out over his head. the current began to tug at him in all directions trying to pull him deeper and he felt almost overwhelmed when he reached a quiet place in the water where the water was warmer and almost still and at that place a large flat rock was submerged under the water that he could stand on. The morning sun was now shinning, and he was half submerged standing on the rock with the warm rays of the sun warming his body as he stood in the middle of the Ossipee...

As he swam back to shore, he though this would be a freah start, an opportunity to begin again and renew a family for blessing by the Great Spirit.
