Book Details

Brent Harbor’s cemetery was rapidly filling up. Only one resident knows why.

From its outward appearance, Brent Harbor epitomized a picturesque fishing village. However, it held terrifying secrets. Only one resident, an old drunk knows why the grave yard at the edge of town was overflowing with bodies. Even though he cried ‘wolf’ no one listened until a stranger arrived and demanded answers. It seemed the founding fathers of this tranquil hamlet had made a costly mistake, leaving the residents to pay the price. Daniel Rossi thought he had relocated to Brent Harbor to start a new venture. Little did he know, he’d been brought there by something sinister.

Book Excerpt

For those looking for their blood to turn cold on a hot summers day, we invite you to Brent Harbor where nothing appears as it seems. CHAPTER 2 Paragraph 6 Frozen with fear, he now found himself confronted by the apparition of a little girl with blonde hair. She was wearing a blue satin dress with a matching bonnet. Unaware of his presence, she was vigorously rummaging through the negatives. Daniel slowly approached to take a closer look. As his flashlight lit up her face, it startled her. With lightening quick reflexes, she was on her feet in an instant and standing directly in front of him. Looking down at her ethereal face, her black eyes pierced right through his soul. There was nothing but a hollow void. No emotion, just death. He felt as if he were staring into the dark evil bowels of hell. Before Daniel could move or even wrap his mind around what he was seeing, she slowly raised her hands, which appeared to be dripping in blood, to cover her ears. As the blood oozed gradually down the sides of her face, she curled back her lips to reveal a wicked grin. In a split-second she began screaming in a high pitch, which echoed off the walls. The sound was excruciating. Stunned, Daniel was motionless, paralyzed with fear. He squeezed his eyes tightly shut and covered his ears from the intense volume of her cries. Suddenly hearing glass shattering simultaneously, he opened them quickly to see two small broken windows. Large slivers of razor sharp glass were falling to the floor. The girl was gone. She was nowhere in sight. Dropping to his knees, he held his head. I must be starting to unravel, he thought. Taking a long hard look around the room, everything was back in place. No little girl, no broken windows, just silence. Wiping the sweat from his brow, Daniel got up. A combination of relief and confusion overwhelmed him. Staring at the trunk once again, he began laughing hysterically. It had to be either extreme sleep deprivation or that old drunk's words were deluding him into becoming paranoid. He had to leave immediately; he had to get out of there. Desperately needing a drink, he closed the front door behind him. Hearing the bell above he quickly glanced back, taking one last look through the window. He was not waiting around for her to come back.
