Book Details

“Preacher, you ain’t always been a Preacher!”

Those words were exclaimed by a teenager after losing several rounds of pool to his pastor Al Daniell. And he was right; the author of this book, now retired pastor, Al Daniell, “AIN’T ALWAYS BEEN A PREACHER!” Dr. Daniell and his wife, Ida, both were born and raised in Dublin, GA. Many of his articles are about his childhood memories of people and places in Dublin, GA, as well as his later life in Eastman GA. With only minimal experience hiking and absolutely no experience in rock climbing, the author says he has much experience in falling down and getting up again. “The ‘getting up’ is the hardest part, but when I have trusted Christ to reach down and lift me up; He has lifted me up, brushed me off, and helped me to KEEP CLIMBING.” Readers instantly feel a personal connection with familiar emotions and memories in regard to family, childhood, love, and disappointment.

Dr. Al Daniell

This book is a compilation of selected articles from the “Keep Climbing” series that has appeared in a middle Georgia newspaper, The Dodge County News, for more than twenty-five years. During that time span, Dr. Daniell wrote about major world events as they were happening; including the “advent of social media”, the Oklahoma City bombing, the spacecraft “Pathfinder” landing on Mars, the O.J. Simpson trial, the Columbine School shooting, the killing of Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden and, most significantly, the horrific 911 attack on the World Trade Center twin towers. Also, many of the articles are about Dr. Daniell’s childhood memories of people and places in Dublin, GA, as well as his later years in Eastman, GA. Devotional in nature, this book will surely bring back memories, while providing encouragement for everyday life.
