Book Details

Author Iman Singh Chemjong was a famous scholar, historian, linguist, lexicographer, and philosopher. Over the seventy-one years that he lived, Iman Singh Chemjong made diverse and multidimensional contributions to Nepal, especially to the Kirati community (one of the ethnic groups of Nepal), in terms of understanding its civilization and history. He carried out detailed primary research and wrote fifteen books including The History of the Kirats, The History of Kirat Literature, Kirati Religion, The History and Culture of Kirat People, Kirat Philosophy, The History of Bijaypur, Kirati Folk Stories, and the Limbu-Nepali-English Dictionary.

 

About the Author

Iman Singh Chemjong and Translated by Moheindu Chemjong Karki

Author Moheindu Chemjong Karki who translated the book is his granddaughter. She was born and raised in Nepal. There she worked with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, International Organization for Migration (IOM) and, briefly, at the United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office (UNRCO). She holds master’s degrees in business administration and political science. She currently lives with her husband in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her published books are Wisdom Pearls (2014), Jeewan ko Rupantaran (2016), and A Metamorphic Odyssey (2020).
