Book Details

It's for the Love, the Money, or Your Soul.

Drug dealers and low-lifes across New York City are being murdered. The city writes it off as another small time drug feud but something doesn't add up for Detective Anthony Grippo. Something is stalking the criminal population. Who is this mysterious predator that haunts the dark streets of New York and what is their true motive? These are the questions Detective Anthony Grippo must answer and answer quickly before a full scale drug war erupts that will claim his city.

Book Excerpt

Inside the building it is uncomfortably quiet. Grippo finds the stairs leading to the basement and starts slowly down. He leans against the wall, catching his breath. From where he is leaning, he can see Scalfani get to the top of the stairs. Grippo, ever so slowly, turns down the stairway. Step after step, his shoes echo in the now empty stairwell. So much for sneaking up on anyone, he thinks to himself. He leans against the wall as it slowly curves to the bottom. Step after step is all he can hear. There is not a sound coming from the basement hallway below. He opens the door to the hallway and peers first down the left side and then the right. Empty. Three doors: two to his left and one to his right. Crouching down, he slips slowly toward the right, keeping his eye on the doors to his left. Ever so slowly, he turns the knob of the classroom door. With gun drawn, he takes a deep breath and counts: “One. Two. Three. Four.”
