Well, for starters, it is a gold mine and it is said to be the greatest find of all times and unlike any other gold mine ever found. They are called the Superstition Mountains because they are said to be the sacred grounds of the Thunder God of the Apache Indians. It is also said to be the sacred burial grounds of the Apache Indians. It is said that whoever goes looking for the mine will be dealt with by the Thunder God himself.
