A late-comer to the teaching profession, the Belpre, Ohio, resident found her niche with junior high students in a small town community of farmers and blue-collar workers. Considering herself an amateur among professionals, she fast tracked one master’s and then pursued a second, focused entirely on writing. She expanded her teaching to include junior college and, in retirement, continues to teach English and creative writing at Ohio Valley University. Her work has appeared in Ohio Teachers Write, Iris: A Journal About Women, ByLine, Home Life, The Lookout, and others. Married to the same man since age nineteen, she has two sons and two grandchildren. She and her husband love to travel, especially when it involves visits with grandchildren.
