In My Time was inspired by remote teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of my students often asked, “Ms. Doreen, why you not going to school?” “Are you going tomorrow?” Others stated, “I want to come.” Some of my students had very limited language skills and were unable to express themselves. Divine inspiration compelled me to write this historical children’s book to help them share their experience for years to come.
