A Collection of Recollections

The written word has been a part of nearly every person’s life. Those who do not write often read what someone else has written. What has been written typically comes from a story or an event that has occurred and subsequently put into words onto a page of paper or into the file of a computer program. The stories from a person’s life can be interesting and informative, humorless or hilarious, easily forgotten or never forgotten, and often painting a history to be treasured. How those stories are told vary from one person to another. What is remembered and how it is remembered also differs. The Creative Writers of Sun Lakes is one of many clubs, organizations, and interest groups in Sun Lakes Country Club, a 55+ community in Banning, California. The members of the group meet regularly, share their writings, and encourage each other in each other’s genre. This collection is the result of one member’s writings over several years. The stories combine seriousness and humor, and attempt to make a point that can spur the remembrances buried in the minds of the reader.
