Born in Richmond,Virginia, my family moved to Charlottesville, Virginia, where I grew up attending Belfield St. Anne’s, Woodberry Forest, Lane High and Avon Old Farms Schools before going to V.M.I. and graduating in 1970. After graduation I traveled to Lake Tahoe to fulfill a longtime ambition of working in a casino which I did for a year. I then went to work for Universal Leaf Tobacco Company where I traveled the world selling and buying tobacco. My travels took me to many countries where, after doing my job, I was always interested in finding a place to fly-fish which I did many times. My wife Rhonda and I have been married for 31 years and have two sons who enjoy the outdoors as much as I do. Some of the most special times of my life have been teaching my sons to hunt and fish and coaching them in Little League Baseball.

Book Details
This is the true story of two childhood friends now in their mid-60s fulfilling a lifelong dream of fishing their way across Canada. The journey begins with their purchase of a secondhand Airstream trailer and ends four months later after numerous adventures, encounters and places accompanied with elation and deflation. Greg Wall and Kelly Sutton have been fishing and hunting together for over fifty years and have spent many extended periods together but never four months in a 30-foot trailer. Will this endeavor prove too much for their friendship or actually strengthen it? Will the 13,000+ miles one-on-one in the cab of a truck or the hours spent looking at each other across the kitchen table prove too much for this modern day “odd couple” or will they be successful in their quest to catch so many fish that they tire of it? This book is a memoir/travelogue with jokes, stories and anecdotes from the author’s many years of hunting and fishing as well as from his 35 years of traveling the world before retiring. It follows the experiences of two 65-year-old men, one totally anal and the other without an ounce of patience, traveling from campground to campground in search of fish only to discover the real adventure is in the people they meet and the sights they see. Just to keep things interesting and spark a little thought with readers. there are a few commentaries, digressions and rants regarding several incidents, laws and regulations related to the trip. They have to deal with horrible weather, destroyed and closed roads, flat tires, unfriendly game wardens and border patrol as well as bait fishermen and occasional wild animals. From the snow on the second day to the rain and floods of the next two months they persevere while chronicling it all on a blog where they keep up with friends and family whenever the internet is available. Also included in the book are maps showing the routes taken between major points, diagrams of the campgrounds and checklists developed for the trip. If the reader wants to follow our lead, pretty much all he or she needs to know is in this book including where the best fishing is.
