Secrets Can Be Deadly

Hold Onto Your Fork, is a story of one of life’s most precious gifts; the gift of trusting in relationships. The reader is taken on a journey through the eyes of a woman whose life is turned upside down, and in just one evening she becomes a stranger to those closest to her. Not even the man who loved her most of his life, could have imagined this sudden change in Lillian. She's prepared to do whatever she can to keep her secret hidden, does whatever necessary to keep her family [and her heart] protected from the pellets of friendly fire. However, she soon discovers that; her secrets have put herself and her family in danger from an unlikely source, when people fall away and fall apart, it’s hard to recognize who the real enemy is. This fictional piece is geared toward readers who appreciate life changing stories with a twist of adventure and mystery. It is great for people of faith who enjoy reading for entertainment and love connecting the clues as they are slowly revealed. The reader will anxiously attempt to unfold the misery as they turn from one chapter to the next.

About the Author

Renèe Cartwright-Burney

Renée has a Master’s Degree in Family Mediation, from LaSalle University and is a retired Family Advocate. She lives and worships in New Jersey with her husband of 37 years, who she states she would marry all over again and hopes to emulate her parents who were married for 72 years. She has four daughters and seven grandchildren, who make her life complete. Renée was the first to racially integrate her High School, in Northern Westchester County, NY where she wrote her first short story while in the 10th grade. Her teacher indicated that the story was excellent, however, refused to believe that Renee wrote the story and would not submit it. Subsequently, Renée stopped writing until the desire resurfaced 28 years later. She began writing plays for her community and has now stepped out on faith to complete her first mystery novel, a genre introduced to her by her late sister Jennifer. The scripture which inspired this book is from, 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (KJV), We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed, we are perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted but not forsaken, cast down, but not destroyed. Look for her next up coming fiction, Get your Fight Back.
