Modular tools for additional family education

This unique book is designed for parents and grandparents who want to actively participate in the education of their preschool-age children and grandchildren. It discusses in detail the author’s carefully developed and designed system of activities to build intellectual, psychological, emotional, interpersonal, and linguistic enrichment for both pre-verbal and verbal children. The method consists of several stages of preparation, implementation, and monitoring of results, which can be administered by the family, or taught to a third-party caregiver. Delivery of the program includes common resources in the home, such as TV, CDs, and computers. Using these tools to create a virtual environment, family members can counteract the effect of undesirable media or social exposure, as well as instilling desired information and behaviors in the child. The techniques and tools provided are an excellent resource for creating continuity in regard to family or community customs and traditions. The monitoring and testing data provided by the program allows parents and family to assess the child’s progress, and provides a baseline of expectations and performance for private caregivers or tutors. For families who understand the importance of early childhood education, the program outlined in this book, which has been extensively developed with the author’s own family, will provide a solid and reassuring way to begin and enhance the childhood experience of learning.
