Book Details

Embracing God’s mission involves understanding His heart and using our gifts.

Throughout history God has called people from all walks of life to advance His mission. Today, God is also speaking to our hearts about using our gifts for spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ to all people.

My hope is that in this book the reader will discover how God can take imperfect people and transform their hearts to be more like His. Through this transformation, we are not only drawn to be more like Him but we are also encouraged to reflect His nature through our actions. Together we can connect with God's heartbeat and fulfill the mission to which God has called us.

About the Author

Lewis Jackson

Lewis Jackson, and his wife, Peg, have served New England churches in various leadership capacities from the early 1970s to 2016. During those years, a growing heart for missions developed in their lives. Together they have led youth and adult short term mission trips to several countries. In the states they traveled broadly conducting ethnic percussion missions presentations called “Heartbeat for Missions.” In churches, schools and colleges, dozens of percussion instruments were used, along with accompanying ethnic music, as a medium to speak to audiences about the need for world missions. Individuals were encouraged to use their God-given gifts to advance the Good News of Jesus Christ. This book expands on some of the key topics shared in those presentations.

Currently, Lew and Peg reside in Winston Salem, North Carolina, where they continue to support both local and foreign missions. They also enjoy spending time with their three daughters and their families.

This book would be helpful to:

1. Individuals interested in gaining a better grasp of God’s heart for missions.
2. Small groups hoping to foster spiritual growth and outreach.
3. Mission leaders looking for a resource to support both local and foreign           mission initiatives.
