Unconditional Love Halts Illegal Drugs In Baltimore

Cynthia Jones and her best friend, Korea, are lifelong residents of Baltimore. During a heated exchange regarding Baltimore’s crime rate, Korea accuses Cynthia of being too critical of black men and making generalizations, and Cynthia, upset, says she wants to leave Baltimore for a safer city. On her way home, Cynthia is in a serious car accident leaving her in a coma. After she recovers, Cynthia decides to make a difference in the community. She asks Korea to join her. This journey leads them to face multiple challenges affecting their community. The journey also puts her in the path of facing an unforeseeable proposition. It Takes a Hood is a thought provoking, heartwarming novel reminding us community is not dead when life comes from those within it.
