An Irreverent Look at Life and Adventures

This book is a rather irreverent collection of non-fiction essays and stories of growing up, fly fishing, motorcycling and commentary on a wide range of subjects. Humorous fly fishing and motorcycle trips, the constant barrage from purveyors of gadgets and useless fluff, commentary on snobbish connoisseurs, growing up and living life as it comes. “Fishing with Marty” relates several fly fishing trips and antics of brothers. And there is “Elderberries, Pop Bottles and Cemeteries”, a story of earning spending money as a young kid growing up in rural Pennsylvania. “Eating Out with the Club,” a story of a fly-fishing club’s trip to the Frying Pan River in Colorado recounts the buffoonery that ensues when trying to please everyone. Motorcycle centric stories such as “A Day in the Garage”, a trip to the Arctic Circle with a group of somewhat dysfunctional friends, and the madness of gadgetry of the motorcycling world. “It’s the Man’s Job” is a humorous take on life at home, likely to resonate with many.

About the Author

Glenn Maxwell Scott

Glenn Maxwell Scott is a retired senior military officer, serving in places as far flung as Belgium and the Marshall Islands. He has a BS in Conservation from Northern Michigan University, and an MA in Natural Science from the State University of New York. He is an avid fly fisher, custom fly rod builder, and vintage motorcycle buff who enjoys the outdoors on streams and rivers, and riding his motorcycles in the back country. He also dabbles in writing stories of life and the outdoor sporting world, as well as fomenting arguments on various subjects, just for the sake of arguing. A native of Pennsylvania, Glenn lives in the Panhandle of Florida now with his wife Janet. They have three children, eleven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
