Book Excerpt

“RETURN THE KINGDOM OF DRAGONDARK TO THE RIGHTFUL HEIR!” Spencer yelled. “WHY SHOULD I? I AM THE RIGHTFUL HEIR!” Zoelengarth countered. “YOU ARE DISEASED AND EVIL!” Spencer thundered back. “YOU’RE AN ASS SPENCER!” Zoelengarth screamed. Spencer realized he now had the upper hand. “THAT’S FUNNY, BECAUSE I THOUGHT I WAS LOOKING AT AN ASS!” Zoelengarth saw the flaming arrow arch and come down in the forest of the impaled. Flames and explosions engulfed the East wall as the forest ignited. Zoelengarth had fallen backwards as the flames reached out for him. As Zoelengarth walked back up to the North wall, he noticed a second figure come out and stand by Spencer. “IF YOU WILL NOT RELINQUISH DRAGONDARK TO SPENCER, WOULD YOU RELINQUISH IT TO ME YOUR FATHER?” The second figure taunted. Zoelengarth almost fell backwards off the catwalk, as the figure of his father became clearer standing next to Spencer. His mind raced with questions as to how his father could be there. As Zoelengarth looked down at the town, he caught movement of the were-dead making their way toward Spencer and his father. Then it came to him, he would stall until the beasts were in striking range. Signaling to his men, the soldiers responded by lining up on the North wall. “FATHER, YOU’RE DEAD! THEREFORE YOU CANNOT RULE THE KINGDOM EITHER!” Zoelengarth yelled back.
