About the Author: Ernest McGeorge, the third of seven children, was born in Hannibal, Missouri in 1947, and his family moved to Seneca, Illinois, in 1952. He and Sandra—his wife of 38 years—have three children and four grandchildren. Ernest enjoys hunting and fishing, and he’s an avid fan of motorcycle and auto racing. After having admittedly limited success as a stock car and motorcycle racer, he now owns a dwarf race car that both his sons, Jon and Michael, have raced. His daughter, Laurel, leans more to the creative side, and three of her poems are featured in Down River Road. Ernest was a stringer writer for the Seneca town and country newspaper, and a guest writer for the Ottawa Times.
