Jake Patterson is a 72-year-old retiree who suddenly discovers he can travel back through time and relive—even change—the outcomes of regrettable personal incidents or failed opportunities in his life. Particular, unremarkable events that have no history-changing consequences. Like a uncomfortable confrontation, a high school football play, simply saying no instead of yes, or vice versa. It’s all good, even amazing, until he is pushed to relive one hellish night in the Central Highlands of Vietnam some 50 years earlier.
