AT LAST! THE ULTIMATE COMPILATION OF IMPORTANT FACTS AND EVERYDAY WISDOM TO EMPOWER FAMILY CAREGIVERS TO THRIVE NOT JUST SURVIVE.

Possibly the best rescue plan you've ever read.

If you are caring for someone with Alzheimer’s Disease or Related Dementias, Pathways: A Guidebook for Dementia & Alzheimer's Family Caregivers will be your lifeline.

Written with passion, compassion and honesty, the Pathways guidebook is a must-read written by a caregiver just like you who understands the inordinate challenges of caring for a diagnosed loved one.

Pathways is your "go-to-source" for learning about your loved one's disease and what you can anticipate as the disease progresses, and for much-needed information on how to care for your loved one and care for yourself during this journey.

The emotional, physical psychological toll on a family caregiver is such that, according to the National Alzheimer’s Association, 70% of family caregivers will develop a chronic, life-altering condition or die before those for whom they care. So if this disease has claimed one person in your family, don’t let it become two. Get up, get going and get help!

Chapter after chapter is filled with practical, immediately applicable tips and tools to make your life easier and help you learn to provide appropriate and loving care while sustaining a healthy quality of life. Based on over 2 1/2 years of research, this book is designed specifically to save you time, energy and money on your journey as a family caregiver.

Pathways is a labor of love written by Kae Hammond, a National Alzheimer’s Association Ambassador and Certified Facilitator, a Family Caregiver Coach, and the Executive Director & Founder of Dementia Help Center (dementiahelpcenter.com) in Southern California.

Challenged to find the guidance she needed to help her family and care for her mother, Kae Hammond embarked on a quest to research, investigate and evaluate the vast amounts of information concerning these diseases. Her results are now at your fingertips.

Reader Reviews:

"You have straightened out the curves and turns and false roads of the family caregiver maze. Accurate, useful, dependable, relevant, and reliable. You have done a yeoman's job and all of us who care for a person with dementia will be better for your efforts.

Pathways is accurate, easy to read and understand. Difficult information has been fashioned in lay terms so that we non-physician-scientists can both understand and utilize it.

Pathways reflects your years of work and personal experience. You have done a tremendous amount of weighing, evaluating, searching, sorting and weeding out in order to reduce the volume of information that caregivers require to succeed. Kudos to you for what you chose to include and exclude from all that is out there. Over and over again, you have done the work for us."

-Stephen M. Harmon, M.S., M.C., LMFT, Regional Director, Alzheimer's Association, California Southland Chapter.

“A copy of this Guidebook should exist in every household for the understanding, care and treatment of dementias of all types, with particular emphasis on Alzheimer’s.

Your direct choice of words urges the reader in compelling fascination. Your research is to the point and never in excess. You are a fine writer who lovingly communicates actual honest information in a unique way. Pathways will certainly clear dark corners for many people and fill those places of fear with the warm light of understanding."

-Rev. Marian Whiteman, Center for Spiritual Living, Palm Desert, California.
