M. Louise Smith is a native Texan, firmly believing that her family roots were nourished in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Born in Robstown, she has lived in Southern California, New Mexico, Houston and Austin, Texas. As a former avid clay artist, she exhibited in shows and galleries throughout Texas and Colorado with her architect husband. They enjoy traveling throughout the US and abroad. They currently reside in Northern Colorado. After spending numerous years in the corporate world with an international aviation brokerage firm, and then marketing, writing and advertising for a large insurance company, she diverted her attention to her love of writing novels and screenplays. Her Texas background is apparent in the locales and fond remembrances she often inserts. She has functioned as a panelist at writers’ conferences and visited remote locations with an Authors in the Bush program in Alaska. She is the author of seven novels, the terrorist saga, The Pact, a mature women’s romance, Accidental Wife, and the Texas occult Torn Shadow, the four-book amateur sleuth series of the Middy Brown Journals for women 45+, and three motion picture scripts.
