S. Michael Siegal had recently retired from law enforcement with nearly thirty-six years working in patrol, investigations, internal affairs, detention, and many other areas within this great occupation. He has incorporated much of his knowledge in this career to accurately portray the day-to-day activities that police officers experience. Growing up in a typical Jewish home, he was led to believe that Jewish boys grew up to become lawyers, doctors, businessmen but never policemen. This most-likely made him more eager to enter this nontraditional occupation to protect and serve the community. He has a great admiration for the Jewish authors of years past who had written novels depicting characters whose lives revolved around their religion. Jewish humor has always been a mainstay in the longevity of the Jewish people and hopefully these novels written by S. Michael Siegal will carry on this tradition.
