Preface Where does this all Come from Sometimes it writes Itself Other times You have to chew On it Dragging the words out Discarding them Getting a glimmer Of an idea A phrase Something someone said Something you read Sketched down Then expanded Or contracted Then there are thoughts And things you did That live in Your heart And maybe your soul Then at times You dig the words Out of a hole There’s no formula There are influences And nuances There are even Songs and dances Life love and romances Pictures Art Sometimes it’s that Little person You held in your hands Sometimes A Cabaret of Plants A small suggestion An inflection A comment a question That expands Upon reflection All shades of colors All types of flavors To stimulate thought To ask a question To bring a smile What a suggestion
