I am from Norfolk, VA. I am originally from Grady Park, later relocating to Chesterfield Heights and then to Ballintine where my life was a daily fist fight. My brother and I were raised in a single parent household by our mother. She would always say, “Instead of acting out in anger, try sitting down and write what is bothering you and how you might be feeling.” However, being hard-headed, I didn’t take her advice until I was already incarcerated after falling in love with fast money. My mother is the reason I finally found expression through pen and paper. Since being incarcerated for the past 14 years, writing has become my way of expressing my pain and emotions.

There are so many individuals incarcerated that have so much to say, but truly do not know how to begin to say it for fear of being judged because of expressing themselves. I hope all who choose to pick up this book enjoy each and every page with a clear and non-judgemental mind. Thank you!
