About the Author

Proz Prosper

William ‘Proz’ Prosper is a Navy Viet Nam veteran, a lifelong resident of Philadelphia, and retired Probation Officer. An experienced amateur boxer before he entered the Navy, ‘Proz’ earned a spot on the Navy boxing team, training at a Naval helicopter base, N.A.S. Ream Field, in Imperial Beach, CA, joining a team of boxers who dominated tournaments in those years. Williams’ father, who boxed using the name George Larover, fought 108 professional bouts, and was installed into the PA Boxing Hall of Fame in May, 2006. ‘Proz’ is a member of the oldest Veteran’s Boxing Association in the country [V.B.A. Ring #1], which is located in the Port Richmond neighborhood spotlighted in the book.
