Linda is a native of Southern California and has lived in the city (or county) of Los Angeles her entire life. She published a newsletter at the end of the last century,(City of Angels) which was laid out and pasted-up by hand. The sketches in this book are Linda's and were originally published in that beloved newsletter.

The name of this collection of poems and essays is, in part, an homage to the people involved in that project and to the odd, metropolis of paradox that is Los Angeles itself. To fall down, be ground into the dust and rise up from the carbon. Repeat. This collection is published for, and in honor of everyone who keeps rising.
