Book Details

Udem stole into the USA with the help of Jima, his former schoolmate. To obtain the Green Card, Jima persuades Suzie, his business partner, to “marry” Udem. Soon thereafter Suzie and Jima were arrested on drug charges, tried, and sentenced to prison. Suzie dies in prison under questionable circumstances. Following her death, Udem surprisingly becomes heir to Suzie’s sizeable savings in offshore accounts. When Suzie’s brothers discover the phony marriage and Udem’s possible right to the money, they want him dead in order to keep what is theirs. Years later, Udem now a Christian minister, is married to Pam, Suzie’s cousin. Pam, a banker, had helped Suzie and Jima launder their drug money to offshore banks. For her “betrayal,” Suzie’s brothers want Pam dead too. Tired of everything, Udem and Pam decide to move to Udem’s native Nigeria. There, Udem learns that he had been chosen by the town’s deity to head its shrine as the chief priest. Udem tells the elders to go to hell. The elders plot to forcibly install him as the priest. Meanwhile, Wahab, Suzie’s surviving sibling, breaks out of prison and heads to Nigeria to kill the couple.
