Saying a Lot with Two Simple Words

The cute Namuh tribe share a simple, but highly effective way, to avoid TALKING TO A PERSON (oh no!), but stay connected to your Buddies. Join Oculos as he explains to Kallos how to Buddy Check!, scenarios when to Buddy Check!, and the benefits of Buddy Check!

Saying “Hi!” or “How are you?” generally gets the answer of “Hello” or “Fine, you?” You say it to be polite, but you would probably prefer a screen to using your voice. You are not alone. Most of us secretly hope that someone ignores us or leaves a voicemail so we do not have to TALK TO A PERSON (oh no!). Communicating so we can work together is a large part of what has made humans human. Without thought or intention, we have changed our way of communicating with each other. We communicate through screens and are starting to feel the effects of technology isolation.

The Namuh tribe explores living in the Age of Screen Technology, where information is immediately available and pocket accessible. Screens entertain us, provide comfort, find us lovers and friends, and allow us to buy life’s necessities. We no longer need to leave our homes or have access to other humans. Outside of (anti)social media, most of us would prefer to remain anonymous. Communication, like everything else in the life of a human, is a use or lose skill which is being lost. This book shares a cute and super simple technique to communicate again.
